Legacy & Vision

For nearly 150 years, Norton Christian Church has been a place where faith, family, and community come together. From a small dugout gathering in 1875 to the vibrant congregation we see today, God has been faithful through every generation.
Through the decades, one thing has remained the same: a heart for God and a love for people. From the beginning, this church has been a place where disciples are made, families are strengthened, and the Gospel is shared.

As we look ahead, our mission remains the same, but our reach continues to grow. We’re committed to building on this foundation of faith, equipping the next generation, and continuing to share the hope of Jesus with our community and beyond.

Our Heritage

For nearly 150 years, Norton Christian Church has stood as a beacon of faith in the Norton community. Our story began on September 26, 1875, when a group of believers gathered in a dugout near Calvert, Kansas, to worship and study God’s Word together.

In 1885, the church moved to its current location at 208 N. Kansas in Norton, where a new building was constructed. As the congregation grew, new seasons of expansion followed—first in 1957, when a new sanctuary was dedicated, and again in 1981 with an additional wing to support growing ministries.

Building the Future

God continues to move in incredible ways through Norton Christian Church, and we believe He is calling us to prepare for the next season of ministry. To meet the growing needs of our congregation and the many ministries that happen throughout the week, we are stepping forward in faith with a new building expansion.

This expansion will include

Expanded gathering space outside the sanctuary

New and improved restrooms

Enhanced and efficient office space for staff

A larger fellowship hall for events and community gatherings

Better organization and security for our Children’s Department

Additional classrooms for small groups and Bible studies

This is more than a building; we’re building a future of faith.

These improvements will enable us to maximize our space for Sunday services, small groups, AWANA, Men’s and Women’s Encounters, Celebrate Recovery, Embrace Grace & Life, Operation Christmas Child, and more. Our prayer is that this project will create room for deeper discipleship, stronger community, and greater impact in Norton and beyond.

We know this isn’t just about construction, it’s about building the Kingdom. We invite everyone in our church family to seek the Lord’s guidance in prayer and fasting, asking how He may be leading you to participate. Whether your part is large or small, every gift, prayer, and act of faith contributes to what God is building here.
